Thank You

2017/2018 School Year Volunteers

Annual Canned Food Drive

Sponsored by Stony Point Third Graders

All food was used to benefit people in our own Stony Point community. The Third Grade class worked very hard this year and collected 1347 food items!

Ms Heckathorn and Ms Anish are thankful for all of the support from the school and families of Stony Point, and hope we were able to make the holidays brighter for some families in our community this year.

Charlottesville Ballet presents

'The Nutcracker'

Many thanks to Charlottesville Ballet for this free holiday performance! #cbnut2017

Stony Point Carnival

Thanks to all of our volunteers and contributors that came together to create a fun night for our students.

Many Stony Point alums stepped out to help at the Carnival. They did a great job!

Also, a big thanks to the Stony Point Fire Department for the use of their Carnival games, and for donating lots of fun prizes.

We hope everyone had a great time! See you next year!

5th Grade Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

Students raised over $1000 from donations given at the Pancake Breakfast on September 30th.

Congratulations to our 5th graders for organizing and hosting this event. Their heart and desire to do something to help families affected by the recent hurricanes resulted in a beautiful community event here in Charlottesville, and a very generous donation to the American Red Cross.

Many thanks to Ms Bolton, Ms Reynolds, and Mrs Frazier for their behind-the scenes support of this event!

Wild West Book Fair

A Special Thank You from Ms McGill

Our school Librarian, Julia McGill, would like to thank everyone for their support of the Wild West Scholastic Book Fair.

Stony Point achieved over $4000 in sales to support the school library! Yee Haw!

This is significantly more than previous years. Ms McGill thanks everyone for their support, including those who helped set up and run the fair, those who helped provide western decorations, and those who purchased items at the fair.

Parent volunteers were very significant to this event. It takes a team to run a book fair. Thanks to you, our library will be able to purchase lots of new books for the children to enjoy. We hope you consider joining us again for the fun next fall!

United Way Day of Caring

We would like to extend a big THANK YOU to our United Way Day of Caring Volunteers!

On September 20th, 2017 they worked for many hours weeding and mulching the beds in front of the school. They did a fantastic job!

Thank you to both Melanie Deberardinis, for organizing the day, and to the PTO for providing lunch for the volunteers.
